For the fourth consecutive year we will put our money where the issues are with The Humane Society of the United States' ACE Feature Documentary Film Grant, which which will be awarded at Silverdocs 2009 in June.
Last year the grant was increased to $25,000, and the lucky winner was Mike Webber's upcoming feature, "The Elephant in the Living Room"

"The Honeysting"
The word "poaching" conjures thoughts of massive elephants in Africa killed for their tusks and left to rot. But in the United States poaching is just as deadly and brutal.
And with scarce wildlife enforcement resources and countless acres of open land, only a scant few percent of poachers are caught and punished for their crimes.
This short feature from the AFI Directing Workshop for Women and filmmaker Alexa-Sascha Lewin and writer Brad Rister is a textbook example of how content creators can raise awareness of such important animal issues while delivering compelling entertainment media.
